I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT #91413) and a certified perinatal mental health therapist (PMH-C) and a certified EMDR therapist who works with individual adults and couples. In addition to being a therapist I’m also a mom of two girls. I love exploring the city – trying new foods, seeing concerts, movies, and theater, going to the beaches and farmers markets. I also love getting to know people, hearing stories about peoples’ lives and being a witness to healing and transformation. This is part of what lead me to become a therapist.
I specialize in treatment of trauma, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, depression, anxiety, and new parenting transitions. I am trained in the evidenced based practice eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) which is used for healing difficult memories, negative self beliefs, and symptoms of PTSD, anxiety and depression. I also use techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness practices depending on the unique needs of each client. I truly believe that all behavior and emotion makes sense given one’s past experiences. Once understanding is reached, healing begins.
My style is collaborative, client-centered, and gentle. When needed I will be open and directive to help support you in a way that is honest and transparent. I also like to use humor when appropriate in therapy sessions as I believe laughter is incredibly healing.
